Founded by cheesemonger James Grant, the Great Cheddar Challenge is the largest cheddar event in the world.
Launched to highlight the extraordinary variation found in artisan Cheddar cheeses - far from the homogeneous, standardised mass produced block cheddar - it showcases some of the best cheddars from England, Scotland and Ireland.

The Challenge itself takes place in September, in an online tasting of six cheddars. Hosted by comedian and turophile Marcus Brigstocke with experts from the industry, who will guide you through how to taste like a pro. At the end of the evening, you'll have a chance to cast your vote in the People's Choice Award (the winner will be announced in the Big Cheese Weekender).
